| During the first semester of 2024 | Lecturers submit thesis topics to the head of the department. |
| December 2024 | Students receive the list of thesis topics. |
| During November 2025 | The student submits an application for thesis completion to the study specialist at EMÜ, indicating the thesis topic and the supervisor(s)' consent to supervise. |

| 22 November 2024 | Approval of master's thesis topics and supervisors at EMÜ (last opportunity for changes). |
| February 2025 | Master's thesis seminar. |
| 21 February 2025 | Deadline for submitting applications for declaring the thesis and/or defense confidential. |
| 7 April 2025 | Pre-defense of master's theses in Metsamaja, room D239. |
| 16 May 2025 | All coursework must be completed. Students who have not cleared their academic debts by this date will not be allowed to defend their thesis. |
| 23 May 2025 at 14:00 | Deadline for submitting the final master's thesis. |

The guidelines for formatting final thesis

Landscape Architecture (MA) Master's I year:

| 18 November 2024 | Lecturers submit master's thesis topics to the head of the methodology committee. Students may develop their own topics in collaboration with the committee. |
| 27–31 January 2025 | Introduction to elective courses and professional practice. |
| 27–31 January 2025 | Introduction to the content and structure of the thesis. |
| 2 April 2025 | The student submits a report on the search for a practice placement to the supervisor [email protected] |
| 25 April 2025 | The student submits an application for thesis topic registration in both Estonian and English, along with the supervisor(s)' approval. |
| 29 May 2025 | Submission of the thesis topic development, literature review, and structure to the supervisor. Individual discussions take place during the following week. |
| 12 June 2025 | Supervisors confirm the master's thesis methodology to the department committee (for credit registration). |

| 4 December 2024 | Master's thesis progress seminar with supervisors and department members. |
| 9 January 2025 | Winter defense candidates submit their master's thesis. |
| 20 January 2025 | Winter defense candidates receive their reviews. |
| 23 January 2025 | Winter defense. |
| 20 February 2025 | Deadline for submitting applications for declaring the thesis and/or defense confidential. |
| 13 March 2025 | First draft of the master's thesis (structure, literature review, results) submitted to supervisors. |
| 21 March 2025 | End of classroom-based coursework for graduates. |
| 3 April 2025 | Master's thesis draft 75% completed, submitted to supervisors for pre-defense. |
| 15–16 April 2025 | Master's thesis pre-defense. |
| 9 May 2025 | All coursework must be completed. Students with outstanding coursework will not be allowed to defend their thesis. |
| 16 May 2025 at 14:00 | Deadline for submitting the final master's thesis.
