The Chair of Landscape Architecture at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and the Estonian Association of Landscape Architects (EMAL) welcome interested participants to a public lecture
"IFLA is all of us: why we need a united Landscape Architecture profession"
Lecture from IFLA President, Bruno Marques, PhD
While the world has changed a lot since its establishment, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) and landscape architects across the globe keep fighting the same battles. We are the profession of the 21st century and well-equipped to deal with the pressures that will define new ways of living and designing for future generations. This talk provides an overview of the state of the profession and introduces the critical role that landscape architects play in advancing the profession by demanding the highest standards of education, training, research and professional practice. Through our collaborative efforts, we will keep raising the profile of landscape architecture globally and promoting sustainable management and design of our natural and built environments.
The lecture will cover the topics around climate action and biodiversity; health, wellbeing and nature-based solutions; community participation; technology and evidence-based design; food security; and traditional knowledge and indigenous practices.
