The chair of landscape architecture has a wide range of research interests, many of which are related to the Estonian landscape and situation: 

  • Urban and rural  landscape change and development in the Post-soviet era, for example the heritage of collective farms, military sites, industrial and housing areas.

  • Urban forestry, urban allotment gardens and urban agriculture as parts of the urban green infrastructure

  • Outdoor recreation planning, design and management

  • Forest landscape aesthetics

  • Public participation in landscape planning and management

  • Landscape and health

These reflect the expertise and research interests of the staff as well as international research programmes.
