VI International AGROFORUM MARE BALTICUM – Digital Future of the Global Agriculture, April 17-19, 2018 in Tartu (The registration will be open until 6th of April)

VI International AGROFORUM MARE BALTICUM – Digital Future of the Global Agriculture, will take place on April 17-19, 2018 in Tartu, Estonia. The event will end with the opening of the XXVI International Agricultural Exhibition Maamess 2018.

The focus of the conference is on digital data that is created through contemporary agriculture and connected research, and will discuss the related opportunities, usage rights and obligations. The in-depth discussions will look into innovation, smart solutions and digitalisation of different stages in production that is part of modern agriculture.

The aim of the Agroforum is to unite the efforts of ministers of agriculture, senior officials, managers of agricultural universities, and agricultural association leaders of the Baltic Sea region and China, Moldova, the Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in order to develop potential cooperation on political, administrative, research and development and entrepreneurial level. Keynote speakers will be from the FAO, the European Commission, and the OECD. First day will be finished with a provocative discussion on how power concentration and data gathering influences food production and global security, delivered by Prof T. Kesteloot​ from OXFAM.

Conference is free of charge; however, participants are expected to pre-register and to cover their own travel and accommodation costs. Forum catering, transportation within Estonia and free access to the Agricultural Exhibition Maamess 2018 will be offered by the organisers. The expenses of the agreed speakers will be covered in full.
